Password to Victory: Stalingrad
Panoramic projection hall
The goal
Draw public attention to a heritage site of federal significance and tell the story of the Battle of Stalingrad of 1942–1943 accurately — as an instrument of patriotic education and of keeping historical memory alive.
The solution
Full immersion built from light, sound and historical reconstruction: projection rebuilds pre-war Stalingrad and carries the viewer into the battle. A quiet but powerful space, where you live the history of your own city instead of reading it. Attendance at the museum doubled after the hall opened.
The project is devoted to the final phase of the Battle of Stalingrad — the capture of the headquarters of the German 6th Army in the building of the Central City Department Store. It recreates the atmosphere of the events on the Square of Fallen Fighters in Stalingrad in 1942–1943, one of the epicenters of the largest battle on the Volga.
The project ran in four stages
- Project concept
- Winning a presidential grant
- Producing the content, procuring the equipment
- Equipment installation and commissioning
