Interactive augmented reality presentation for the opening of the Barys Arena Ice Palace
The interactive installation used augmented reality technology for showing off features of the Barys Arena - a new multifunctional ice palace in Astana, Kazakhstan. It was presented to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as to the senior members of the government, the top management of KTZ (Kazakhstan Railways) and HC Barys during the opening ceremony of the sports complex on 8th of August 2015.
The stand’s visitors could rotate and take apart the 3D model of the Arena, explore it from different angles and access information about the technical characteristics and features of the olympic scale stadium.
Set-up - LED screen 5x3 m, specially made table with the surface featuring rink with a ice hockey puck serving as a controller of augmented-reality and video camera.
Project implementation period - 2 weeks.
